A while ago people thought of cyberspace as something
that professionals used, or something that not many people could understand.
Sherry Turkle points out that cyberspace has now become and everyday thing
that is used by everyday people. Turkle expresses this
by saying,
Cyberspace is now part of routines of everyday life.
When we read our electronic mail or send postings to an electronic bulletin
board or make an airline reservation over a computer network, we are in
cyber space. In cyberspace we can talk, exchange ideas, and assume
personae of our own creation. (p. 337)
